Windmill Fell Race – the only category B fell race in Leicestershire

A scenic, challenging two-lap race, with good spectator vantage points

Windmill Fell Race Details

Race HQ:   Curzon Arms, 44 Maplewell Rd, Woodhouse Eaves, LE12 8QZ

Start: 7:30 pm (please arrive no later than 7:10 pm to pay and collect numbers)

Distance: 5 miles, not accurately measured

Age Limit: Min age 16

Race: Electronic (Parkrun style) timing (not chip timed), limited to 150 runners

Entry: Cost £3 per runner (£5 unattached, non-club runners) – register in advance but pay on the day

Toilets: Available at the Curzon Arms

Parking: Space is limited, so please car share. Parking is available at the Curzon Arms, Village Hall, or the Broombriggs Farm car park on Beacon Road. Please do not park on Mill Road as this will obstruct the race and avoid parking on residential streets so as not to inconvenience residents.

Registration and payment: at the registration desks, which will be in the front garden of the Curzon Arms

Refreshments: the Curzon Arms will be open as usual for drinks and food after the race

Safety:  It is the responsibility of the runner to assess his/her own fitness to run.  Also to ensure suitable clothing is worn for the weather conditions.  This is a fell race with relatively steep climbs and descents. We recommend the use of off-road shoes to reduce the risk of falls. Spikes are not suitable.

Drinks stations: There will not be a drinks station on the course

Property: all property left unattended at the venue is at the owner’s risk

Prizes: Will be presented at 8:45 pm at the Curzon Arms. There will be prizes for 1,2,3 male and female and 40+, 50+ and 60+ category winners male and female (don’t expect much though at £3 entry fee!)
